I am experimenting with different techiques. Today I stamped "Studio Sketches" from Stampin'UP! on decal paper, sprayed with clear acrylic spray and applied the decal to the tile and candle. I will be posting other projects soon.

I made a bunch of roses last night while watching "Dancing With the Stars" and decided that they would look really pretty on the wreath on my entry door. They really added a lot of color to the white and green wreath.

Well, I started to make roses, but I changed my mind and made these cute little powder boxes. They remind me of my grandmother and the powder boxes with thos big fluffy powder puffs inside. And they smelled so good, just like Grandma. I hope you like them as much as I do. Everything I make is handcrafted with love.

To make this little box, just cut out two circles out of chipboard or cardboard with your clear circle die. Cut three more circles out of cardstock and one scallop circle (large scallop circle die). Emboss the cardstock and place to the side. Take a strip of 12 1/4 inch by 2 inch cardstock and emboss this also. Glue carefully around one of the cardboard circles. You now have the bottom of your box. Glue one of your embossed circles to the bottom of the box and one inside the box. Take the scallop circle and glue one of the cardboard circles in the center of the back side of the embossed scallop circle. glue the last embossed cardstock circle to the bottom of the cardboard (that is showing). The scallop will be the top and the circle will be on the bottom of the cardboard. This should sit inside the box. Embellish as you see fit. Hope this helps.

Today I have an idea for another project, but I have to get busy and make roses -- I love doing this because I can sit in front of the TV and do it if I want to. Hopefully I will post a pic later in the day. This is a perfect project for a rainy afternoon. Have a fun day Stampin' UP!

Watching the Eagles

One of our favorite things in the winter, here in Illinois is to go to the Mississippi and view the Bald Eagles. This year they seem a little sparce, but today we were introduced to "BOB". Bob resides in Hardin, Illinois and frequents the tree by the Riverdock Restaurant. He visits every morning and I was lucky enough to have a photo shoot with him before he took off on his afternoon flight.

Mojo Monday Week 101

Continuing with my theme of daisies, I created this card for Mojo Monday, Week 101. I used SU DSP, Top Note Die, Bermuda Bay Ink, and stamp from the Charming collection which will be available 1 September. The flower was created by using the Daisies #2 die and one of my old greeting cards. The stem is just a piece of twine from my stash. Hope you like the results. Have a great Mojo Weekend!

I could not bear to throw away my cards that we inherited from David's aunt and I finally found uses for them.I have been using the Daisies #2 die from Stampin'UP! to make beautiful flowers out of vintage greeting cards and buttons. SU papers and dies make these flowers pop. I love them, and I hope you enjoy them too.

New Cards

My grandson has been with me for two weeks and he is such a joy to have around. It is hard since I live so far away from him. It was nearly three years since I had seen him and now he is growing up so fast. He is 9 going on 30! Today I have been working on new cards to see what I can come up with for the WOW swaps at convention. I am having so much fun, but it is very frustrating when you wake up in the middle of the night thinking about designs. Hope you like these two -- I think that they turned out nice. I used the new in colors from Stampin'UP! in conjunctions with my texture plates, dies and punches. I really like using the different media combinations because the results are unique. Mojo Monday Week 92

Good Morning! It is going to be a lovely hot day in Illinois. Momma Cardinal is sitting on her nest and I can't wait to see those babies hatch. She chose the lilac bush right outside my dining room window so I can watch her throughout the day. Back to reality -- I used my sneak peek Level 3 hostess gift "Lovely Flowers Bundle" DSP for this card. I also used the new in color Melon Mambo, Wings of Friendship SS and Flower Lines SS (came with the bundle). I am not quite sure what color SU ribbon I used -- was in my stash. To create the frames I used my scalloped punch. I just love the new colors that SU has this year. Hope you do too!

Mojo Monday Week 91

I cannot believe it has been so long since I posted anything. Time just seems to get away from me. The exciting news is that I am now a Stampin'UP! Independent Demonstrator. I love the products so much, I decided I might as well benefit from selling them. I am also going to convention in August which I am so excited about. Anyway, here is my submission for this week. I love the idea of a long card -- This gives me a chance to use all the long envelopes that I have. This card used the Manhattan die. Also I used the Nestabilities scalloped oval and the DSP Pefect Plum from SU. I also used ribbon and beads from my stash and the SU Beautiful Butterflies die. I made it for my nephew's wedding next Saturday and I hope he and his betrothed like it. I would love to get your feedback. Have a great week.

Today is a beautiful sunny day! I have so much to do to get ready for the Farmer's Market that starts in two weeks. Like I said before, it is very hard for me to focus on one craft but I do have to make some sort of list of what I want to sell this year! Of course my cards will be on it. I also have an urge to plant flowers. I need to organize, organize, organize. Wish me luck.

My butterflies

I made these butterflies out of recycled cans. See if you can identify which ones are which. I very carefully cut the tops & bottoms off the cans with tin snips. Then I use a paper cutter to even out the edges. I used Build a Buttefly Sizzix to cut the parts for my butterflies. After I assemble the butterflies, I used my Cuttlebug folders to emboss the metal. Then I shape the butterfly and use a flat pearl as the head. I really love making butterflies and I used to cut all of them out by hand. The more variety of cans you have the more colorful your collection will be.

Shape It Challenge

I made this card for my grandson's birthday this week. He will be 9! I can't believe it. Today was crazy and I just decided to go ahead and work on my crafts. I used Cricut Design Center to cut out the cupcake from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I cut out two layers of the top image and cut off the frosting in white cardstock and the base color blue. I then printed the shadow image for the back of the card and the base of the front of the card. I used stamps that I had on hand from Stampin Up. I embossed using my texture plates from Stampin Up. I used a star brad to make it flip up card. I was going to use embossing powder but decided against it.

This is my first post for Mojo Monday. I really had fun making this card. I have a special friend that I will be mailing this to this afternoon. I made the card from scrap paper and ribbon that I had. Embossing was done with Cuttlebug embossing sheet.
